普哥利殊在Sony第二張專輯，亦是他二十年內第一張全蕭邦專輯，曲目都是他以前沒錄過。兩首夜曲、《幻想曲》及《第三鋼琴奏鳴曲》，一言以蔽之就是慢，不過已經沒有他在DG錄完最後一張專輯（蕭邦四首諧謔曲），到他簽約Sony重歸錄音室之間，流出的盜錄中那麼痛苦的慢。
這張碟的慢，我看並不是把全部段落一概慢10或20%那樣簡單，主要是在較大聲而音符較密集的段落拖慢，務求個個音都有力，所以或者會令一些朋友覺得太刺耳。而我不會一概的抹殺他這種慢，尤其是我喜歡的Sokolov或者Afanassiev也會慢彈，只不過普哥利殊在這張碟，慢得來又不像那兩人彈得夠靚而已。最後就是《第三鋼琴奏鳴曲》（軌四至七）第一及三樂章的後半我都覺得拖得太慢，或者我無法像他那麼投入吧。
Pogorelich’s second Sony album is also his first all-Chopin recital since his last DG disc, the four Chopin scherzi. These pieces are quite slow to usual tastes, but not as painstakingly slow as some of his bootleg recordings made when he stopped making records.
I don’t think Pogorelich didn’t just slow down 10% or 20% indiscriminately. He tended to slow down in loud and dense passages, so that each rapid note or chord sounded equally powerful. But that would offend those who love their Chopin soft and tender. I can’t say his slowness didn’t work, it’s just that such slowness wasn’t fully supported by an irresistibly beautiful sound. Also, the second halves of the first (track 4) and third (track 6) movements of the Third Sonata were simply too slow and lost momentum.
